Master Shi YanTi 释延提

Master Shi YanTi was born in Henan Province, Central China, home of the Shaolin Monastery – the cradle of kung fu and spiritual cultivation since the 5th century. He is a warrior monk of the 34th generation of Shaolin.

At the age of 17, after finishing high school, he entered the Shaolin Monastery, where his martial abilities were evaluated. After successfully passing the selection, he was admitted among the warrior monks, beginning an intensive practice in martial arts and Buddhist teachings, which strengthened his discipline and focus.

In 2007, after years of training and observing 250 Buddhist precepts, he received full bhikkhu ordination, becoming a fully ordained Buddhist monk. Two years later, in 2009, he was granted a scholarship by the Chinese government to study at the Buddhist College in Singapore, where he spent two years deepening his understanding of Buddhist philosophy, learning English, and studying social and natural sciences, further expanding his knowledge of Chan philosophy.

Since 2013, Shi YanTi has been traveling around the world teaching Shaolin kung fu and spreading the culture and philosophy of the monastery. He has led seminars in the United States, African countries, Indonesia, Italy, Germany, and beyond.

He is also the author of two books in English: “Enter the Buddhism”, dedicated to Buddhist philosophy, and “Qigong – The Power of Life”, which explains the practice and benefits of qigong, such as strengthening vital energy. His mission is to spread the Shaolin heritage, combining martial arts, spiritual growth, and Buddhist wisdom.
